Questions
What is URL-safe Base64?
It replaces + and / with - and _ so the result can sit in a URL or filename without escaping. JWTs use it, usually without trailing = padding.
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Anyone can decode it, so never use it to protect secrets.
Why does decoding say the bytes are not valid text?
The Base64 probably holds binary data, such as an image or a compressed file, rather than UTF-8 text.
